I came to Australia from New Zealand to retire in 2017. My wife and I purchased a home at the then Gateway Lifestyle Village at Coombabah which was subsequently purchased by Hometown Australia.

With time on my hands, I joined the HOC as Treasurer. Over the past eight years, I became very aware of the ineffectiveness and unfairness of the MHRP and being a fighter for social justice, I decided to join AMHO as I saw that working with Members of the Queensland Parliament was the only way to change the Act to ensure that it does what it is supposed to do – protect homeowners in residential parks.

My area of expertise is the dispute mechanism (Form 11), and in 2018 I commenced a case with QCAT as, according to the Act, I was being illegally charged for sewerage. It did take three years but a successful decision was achieved with QCAT ordering a refund, setting precedent for other actions.
